Yandex says starts testing self-driving taxis in Sirius near Sochi

MOSCOW, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex is testing a self-driving taxi near the southern city of Sochi and taking orders for a ride, a company representative told PRIME on Tuesday.

“Orders can be submitted on the project’s website…Users are to be older than 18 to participate. After the order is approved, a robotaxi can be hailed in application Yandex Go,” the representative said.

Passengers will be offered several localities to get in and out, and 20 such vehicles will operate on the territory.

Yandex in June tested self-driving taxis in Moscow’s Yasenevo district.
